Changes to dog and cat boarding at Lonsdale:
Due to significantly high numbers of animals in care our, cat and dog boarding facilities at our Lonsdale shelter are closed. Boarding facilities are still available at our Whyalla and Port Lincoln shelters.
Whilst our boarding customers are extremely important to us, our boarding operation is secondary to our core mission work of accommodating animals in need due to them being sick, injured or homeless. We have been experiencing an influx of animals into our shelters over several months which has forced us to make this decision.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Book your pet in to their home away from home

Planning a holiday and need a safe place for your pet to stay while you’re away? We offer dog and cat boarding facilities at our Whyalla or Port Lincoln shelters, giving you peace of mind that your beloved pets will be well cared-for while you enjoy a vacation.

What’s more, all proceeds generated by our boarding facilities goes straight back to helping animals in need across our state.

There’s no need to worry about pets who are fussy eaters, either. We understand the individual needs of each animal and can cater for a wide range of diets.

If your pet requires medication, our Whyalla or Port Lincoln boarding facilities are the place for you, as we have qualified staff and veterinarians on-site six days a week. (But please do discuss your pet’s individual medical requirements when making a booking.)

Dog boarding

RSPCA dog boarding

Dogs boarding at our locations have dedicated kennels exclusively for their stay with us.

We ensure your dog is kept entertained with daily exercise in large yards overseen by trained dog behaviour staff and volunteers, who can also tailor care to suit your pooch’s individual needs.

Cat boarding

RSPCA cat boarding

Cats boarding at our locations are individually housed in a spacious pen with comfortable bedding provided.

In many facilities, residents get to spend time outside of their pen in an enclosed area where they can climb and explore.
