Mittens and Sheba are Ready for a Nice Home. As a bonded pair they must be adopted together.

An on-line apppointment is not necessary – they are available to meet at our Stepney Office (call Paul on 0488 075 007)

Mittens and Sheba are a beautiful bonded pair of girls. Mittens (black and white, about two years old) and Sheba (Torty about 5 years old) both came to us as strays from Clapham back in November 2020 so they have been with us for nearly a year now. As with so many stray cats that come to RSPCA, they were extremely scared of humans initially and have had a lot of time in foster care. For the past four months they have lived in my office at Stepney and are now ready for a nice, quiet home with owners that can invest the time to continue to build their trust in people.

Mittens and Sheba are very friendly but still nervous around people. Mittens desperately wants to make friends but is still very easily scared. When she knows you she loves to have company and is often jumping onto my desk to help with typing and filing papers. She enjoys playing fish on her ipad and cuddling up with Sheba in her igloo, and is a very intelligent cat.

Sheba loves a cheek and tummy rub in her igloo and purrs like an engine. She is a soft teddy bear of a torty, but is still too nervous to come out of her igloo when people are around. Our night time “spycams” however shows that she loves to wander around and play with Mittens.

So what sort of home do Mittens and Sheba need? Well they must be indoor only cats so a home where they can wander around the house with plenty of windows to look out. And as they are still nervous around people they are probably not suitable for a family with children, especially young children. With the right introduction Mittens will become your friend quite quickly, but Sheba is still going to take some coaxing to leave her igloo during the day but if you have enough time to invest in building her trust it will happen one day.

These two cats really are soft and gentle and will make wonderful companions one day for patient owners who are willing to slowly earn their trust. If you think they may be the right match for your home, please phone Paull on 0488 075 007 to make a time to meet them at our Stepney Head Office.

As with all RSPCA cats they are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and up to date with parasite prevention.

Adoption fee: $39
