New name and new look for RSPCA Op Shops

May 26, 2017

RSPCA South Australia’s chain of recycled and re-loved fashion and homewares stores has been re-launched this week with a new name, a new look and extended opening hours.

The RSPCA South Australia Op Shops – previously know as ‘thrift shops’ – have been a staple of RSPCA’s fundraising and community activities for decades.

With expanding demand from South Australians for recycled clothing, accessories and homewares, RSPCA has seized the opportunity to expand this social enterprise to help provide sustainable funding for its core mission – preventing animal cruelty, rescuing and caring for animals in need.

Fabienne Reilly, Commercial Projects Manager at RSPCA South Australia, says the Op Shop business model aligns well with RSPCA’s mission.

“The best things in life are rescued. From rescued animals, to rescued fashion and homewares, our Op Shops are giving new life to pre-loved items, otherwise destined for the scrap heap” she said.

“We’re proud to be working with our local community to reduce unnecessary waste and promote sustainable fashion, while at the same time helping to rescue vulnerable animals from abuse, abandonment and neglect.

“We are so excited to be sharing our freshly merchandised and branded shops with the people of South Australia. To celebrate, we have extended our opening hours and are offering a special 50% discount on all stock in all stores on Saturday June 3rd.”

RSPCA is calling on South Australians to support its Op Shops by shopping in its newly revamped stores, and by donating quality recycled clothing, fashion accessories and homewares.
