Message from President of RSPCA South Australia

October 14, 2016

The statement below can be attributed to Rob DiMonte, President, RSPCA South Australia;
“It is with sadness that I announce that Tim Vasudeva has resigned as Chief Executive Officer of RSPCA South Australia.
“Tim has made the selfless decision to move back to Melbourne to support his elderly parents, both of whom have recently experienced health challenges. We are supportive of Tim’s decision, which has been made in the best interests of his family.
“Tim has done so much for RSPCA, and the animals of South Australia, since he joined the organisation in May 2013. Over the last three and a half years Tim has showed 110% commitment, and the impact he has made has been truly remarkable.
“Since 2013, we have seen a 45% increase in animal adoptions, a 189% increase in animals cared for through our foster-care program, and a 93% increase in cruelty cases prosecuted in the courts. This is not an accident. Tim’s passion and leadership have been critical in RSPCA South Australia’s transformation into the efficient and effective organisation it is today.
“Our loss is Animals Australia’s gain. They have offered Tim an important new role as Director of Corporate Affairs, a role that we know he will perform in his fully-committed way.
“Tim has given us 3 months’ notice and will be CEO until the end of this calendar year. RSPCA South Australia’s Board has begun the process of identifying our new CEO. This is likely to take some time to ensure we are able to find the best possible candidate to fill Tim’s shoes.
“The Board, staff and volunteers have been very appreciative of Tim’s unwavering commitment, and we join together in recognising Tim for his outstanding achievements, and wish him nothing but the best for the next exciting phase of his career.”
