RSPCA South Australia exists to prevent animal cruelty, to protect animals and to care for animals. We enforce the Animal Welfare Act, investigate reports of alleged animal cruelty, and prosecute cruelty offenders. We run community education programs, and lobby government and industry for improvements to legislation and animal welfare standards.

Education/Campaign Coordinator

An exciting opportunity exists for an Education/Campaign Coordinator at our Stepney headquarters on a part time basis (days and hours negotiable). The Education/Campaign Coordinator improves the welfare of animals by developing, implementing and evaluating overseeing the education portfolio, and campaign communication strategies through legal reform, the abolition of specific practices, or better care and management of animals. The role has a strong focus on extending the education program, and phasing out or ceasing practices that are detrimental to animal welfare and unnecessary suffering.

Animal Welfare Advocate

A great opening has risen for an Animal Welfare Advocate at our Stepney headquarters on a part time basis (days and hours negotiable). This pivotal role reports directly to the CEO with the responsibility to improve the welfare of animals through the development and implementation of strategic approaches in political, industry and community advocacy.

Community Project Officer (Safe Kennels)

We are looking to fill a newly created Community Project Officer position to improve the welfare of animals and lives of people through the development and implementation of strategic approaches to assist families affected by domestic violence who have companion animals. This role is a part time (2.5 days per week) on a one year fixed term contract. This role will lead the Safe Kennels Project by reviewing current options available for families affected by domestic violence who have companion animals, ensuring their pet’s safety and ongoing care, preferably within the family unit.

Volunteer

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation. More than 800 volunteers each year donate their time, skills and services to support our work. Volunteering is a rewarding experience which gives you the opportunity to make an impact to the lives of at-risk animals.

You can volunteer your time in a variety of different ways. These include:

  • Assisting at our Lonsdale, Whyalla or Port Lincoln shelters
  • Supporting our Animal Welfare Advocate with Educational Programs
  • Helping out at an RSPCA South Australia event such as Million Paws Walk
  • Assisting in an RSPCA Thrift Shop
  • Using your skills with our administration team
  • Open up your heart and home and become a Foster Carer for animals in need
