Cupcake Day is on its way!

July 11, 2018

RSPCA South Australia is calling on all lovers of sweet treats to bake up a storm to help fight animal cruelty for this year’s Cupcake Day.

Monday, August 20 is set to be the sweetest day of the year as thousands register, bake and fundraise for animals in need.

RSPCA South Australia’s official Cupcake Day Coordinator, Kate Jones, says the event is a great excuse to gather friends and colleagues for a morning tea at your workplace, home, school or neighbourhood.

“Cupcake Day is about coming together to support the amazing work of RSPCA South Australia as we rescue, rehabilitate and rehome thousands of animals in need each year,” she said.

“While Cupcake Day is officially on August 20, we encourage hosts to hold their events any time that suits them during August.

“RSPCA South Australia is over 90% community funded, so events like Cupcake Day are vital in ensuring we can fund our lifesaving work. Plus, it’s such a fun day for anyone who loves sweet treats!”

RSPCA South Australia is aiming to raise $50,000 during this year’s event – that’s enough to give 2,000 dogs in need at least three nights of warmth and specialist care at an RSPCA animal shelter.

Hosts should register at www.cupcakedaysa.com.au and can download their own promotional tools including, posters, bunting, host guide, cupcake labels and more.
